Conecept

These types of distaffs have been most common on the Swedish eastern coast and therefor bears the resemblence of Finnish distaffs, as well as the like from Russia and the Baltic countries. Decorated distaffs have been popular as "proposal gifts", and the decorations usually have a strong symbolic meaning such as hearts, trees of life, birds, etc.
