<item_type_metadata:creation purpose>Thenman noticed there was a demand for soap trays at the store and co-op Arvika konsthantverk. </item_type_metadata:creation purpose>
<item_type_metadata:technique>A slab technique where the clay is rolled with a pin on a plaster board with textured pattern. Then he form is cut and shaped on a plaster molder and feet are attatched to the bottom. When the tray has become hard as leather the drain holes are cut and the whole product is cleaned and made to have a nice finish with a sponge. It's dipped in engobe/slipware and the underside of the feet are dried off. Then it's left to dry. The dry shape is bisque fired up to 950 degrees, glazed, dried under the feet and then fired to about 1100 degrees.</item_type_metadata:technique>
