The museum has a ‘Feis Room’ as a learning and performing art space for Gaelic culture including music, drama, art and storytelling.
There’s also an open-access archive containing maps, documents and photographs telling South Uist’s story. This archive contains material provenanced to Margaret Fay Shaw, a prolific collector of Gaelic culture.
Kildonan Museum is run by a partnership between Comann Eachdraidh Uibhist a Deas (South Uist Historical Society) and Urras Eachdraidh Uibhist a Deas (South Uist Historical Trust) (SC016426).
