Tool

The baking trays in particular are manufactured on a board, in various sizes, depending on the dimensions of the piece. The artefact is made from moulds. The finish is done in such a way as to ensure that the tray can be used in the oven with food. Once moulded, the baking tray is left to dry. The firing process hardens the clay, transforming it into a durable ceramic piece ready for use.

Place

Molelos, Tondela, Portugal

Material Source

The potter collects black clay from a local plot of land designated for the extraction of the material.

Technique

The artefact is made from moulds that the craftsman created so that they all have the same thickness and size. The finish is done in such a way as to ensure that the tray can be used in the oven with food.
